Just as the subject has become a matter of heated controversy at many of the club pools in our home cities, so is it becoming a vital issue at Belvedere Beach-tops or no-tops? The men seem to feel that, owing to the increasing brevity feminine swimming costume, it’s about time for them to assert themselves. After all, health is health-and why should the weaker sex get it all?

We will admit that there are some masculine torsos that are definitely not things of beauty, but then on the other hand, we are always being told that this is an age of practicality rather than art. We’ve been told that a petition is being gotten up by the no-top faction in the hopes that they may once again bear their backs to the rays of Old Sol. We trust that this effort will be received with a feeling of peace rather than war and that a satisfactory solution may be discovered to quell this monster of unrest that gnaws at the very vitals of the peace of our dear summer home.
